… wonder which compounds are included in SYNTHIA™’s starting materials databases?
We have a database of over 20 million Published and Commercial compounds!
Published compounds in your results are marked with a Book tag in Path View or appear as teal dots in Graph View. These compounds come from our database of literature-published compounds, including SPRESI, Science of Synthesis, and the Pistachio patent databases. Each Published compound has a popularity number, indicating how many times it has been produced in reactions documented in references within our database. This number is displayed as a badge on the Book tag or beneath the light cyan dot.
The Commercial compounds database includes compounds available from our Sigma-Aldrich Core catalog, as well as from our Building Blocks Explorer and Aldrich Market Select portfolios. Together, these resources contain over 8 million commercially available compounds from around 80 different vendors, all with price information.
In Path View, the price per gram for commercial compounds is displayed in pink beneath the structure. In Graph View, these compounds are represented as pink dots, with their price per gram listed below each dot.
Click on the structure of a commercial compound to open its Molecule Card. If the compound is sourced from either the Sigma-Aldrich Core Catalog or the Building Blocks Explorer, you will find a direct link to the Sigma-Aldrich catalog. Alternatively, you can use the ‘Shop Now’ option to add it to your shopping cart.
In Graph View, commercial compounds from these catalogs display a green checkmark on their pink dot.
Compounds from the Aldrich Market Select portfolio are available from third-party vendors. You can find a link to the vendor’s website and their catalog number in the Molecule Card. These compounds do not have a green checkmark on their pink dot in Graph View.
The Aldrich Market Select portfolio features products from 80 of the most reliable suppliers in the compound and building block market. For more information, visit
