…SYNTHIA™ can tell you when a protecting group is required in your synthesis?

When reviewing your results, look for a Shield tag next to a molecule. This indicates that a protecting group is required at that step.

Looking at your results in Graph View? Look for a hashed blue halo around the molecule nodes.

Or look for a warning icon on the molecule card or on the reaction card. 

Click on a molecule with a Shield tag to open its Molecule Card. Select the Protections tab to see which functional group needs protection and possible protecting groups that will be compatible with the reaction conditions.
